Arrival at Keflavik airport anytime. Transfer to Reykjavik on your own using our easy to follow detailed instructions. Explore the city by foot and visit museums until you can check in to the hotel at 3pm.
5PM Meet your Tour Leader at the hotel for a welcome meeting and introductions. Group dinner in town and overnight at the centrally located accommodations.
Get ready for an epic day of exploration as we depart Reykjavík early, bound for the jaw-dropping Snæfellsnes Peninsula—a land of volcanoes, stunning coastlines, and endless adventure. Dominated by the mighty Snæfellsjökull Volcano, this magical region is the stuff of legends (literally—it inspired Journey to the Center of the Earth).
Our first stop is the charming town of Stykkishólmur, where we’ll set sail on the Puffin Watching Boat Trip at TBA. Glide across the sparkling waters of Breiðafjörður Bay, keeping an eye out for puffins, seals, and other amazing seabirds. As we explore the fjord, the captain will regale us with fascinating tales about the region’s geology and history.
After the boat adventure, enjoy lunch in Stykkishólmur before we hit the road again to explore the northern coast of Snæfellsnes. Highlights of the afternoon include the picture-perfect Kirkjufell mountain, a short hike up Saxhóll Crater for breathtaking views, and the otherworldly black-sand beach of Djúpalónssandur.
End the day with warm Icelandic hospitality as we settle in for two nights at a family-run horse farm on the southern coast of Snæfellsnes.

Today is all about adventure and discovery on the southern coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula! Start your morning with a bucket-list experience: a 2-hour horseback ride on the iconic Icelandic horses at Lýsuhóll. These gentle Vikings, and sure-footed companions will carry us through breathtaking landscapes, offering a truly unique perspective of this magical region and more views of the stunning views Snæfellsjókull volcano.
After an invigorating ride, enjoy a hearty lunch at the farm, where we’ll refuel for the next chapter of our journey.
Our first stop after lunch is the picturesque hamlet of Arnarstapi. Here, we’ll wander along coastal paths lined with dramatic basalt rock formations, sculpted by nature into stunning shapes that seem almost otherworldly.
Next, we visit the enchanting black church of Búðir, a striking contrast against the golden sands of the nearby beach and the rugged lava fields that surround it. This spot is a photographer’s dream and a place to soak in the serene beauty of this Icelandic coastal town.
As the day winds down, we return to accommodations for our second cozy night at the family-run horse farm.

We’ll start with a delicious breakfast buffet then drive south. Today combines ultimate relaxation with fascinating history! Our firs stop is a rejuvenating visit to Hvammsvík Nature Spa, set on a serene fjord. Immerse yourself in Iceland’s unique bathing culture as you soak in a variety of geothermal hot pools surrounded by stunning natural scenery. Feeling adventurous? Take a refreshing dip—or just dip your toes—into the North Atlantic Ocean! Unwind further with a drink from the swim-up bar as you take in the tranquility of this magical place.
After a blissful morning, we’ll journey to Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site steeped in both geological and historical significance. Walk between the dramatic faults and fissures that mark where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart, creating a stunning natural landscape.
This site is also the birthplace of Icelandic democracy—home to the Alþingi, the world’s first parliament, established over a thousand years ago. Discover the stories of Viking gatherings, historic events, and the deep cultural significance of this remarkable location.
We’ll wrap up the day with an overnight stay near Laugarvatn, a peaceful retreat where you can reflect on the day’s adventures.

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast before diving into one of Iceland’s most iconic routes—the Golden Circle! First, we’ll visit the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial waters thunder down a dramatic two-tiered cascade.
Then, it’s off to the Geysir hot spring area, where you’ll witness Strokkur geyser erupting every few minutes, shooting scalding water 15–30 meters into the air—a thrilling sight!
A short drive takes us to Friðheimar, a famous greenhouse where we’ll enjoy their legendary tomato soup for lunch, served amidst rows of lush, vine-grown tomatoes.
Next, we journey to Iceland’s stunning south coast. Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall like no other—you’ll have the rare chance to walk behind the cascading curtain of water for an unforgettable view!
Further along, we’ll reach Reynisfjara, a dramatic black-sand beach with towering basalt cliffs, powerful Atlantic waves, and striking sea stacks said to be trolls frozen in stone. Take a stroll and feel the raw energy of this incredible place.
As we continue east, we’ll cross the vast black-sand plains of the south and the expansive lava fields of Eldhraun, created by one of the largest eruptions in history.
We’ll end the day at our cozy accommodations near Kirkjubæjarklaustur, ready to rest and recharge for more adventures ahead.

Get ready for a day of icy wonders and breathtaking landscapes! We’ll journey further east into Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe’s largest glacier and some of Iceland’s most spectacular sights.
Our first adventure takes us to Fjallsárlón lagoon, where we’ll embark on a thrilling boat ride among floating icebergs. Glide across the mirror-like waters, weaving through shimmering blocks of ice as they drift from the nearby glacier—truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
After lunch, we’ll visit the world-famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. This surreal, turquoise lake is dotted with massive icebergs that have broken off from the glacier, creating a magical, ever-changing landscape.
Just steps away is Diamond Beach, where glittering chunks of ice wash ashore on the black sand, resembling scattered gemstones. Explore the coastline for the perfect bergy bit to get a photo of don’t forget to watch for seals and seabirds surfing in the blue colored river current heading out to the ocean.
As the day winds down, we’ll return to our accommodations near Kirkjubæjarklaustur for a second cozy night, reliving the day’s icy adventures.

Today is all about the epic scale of Iceland’s natural wonders. We’ll start the day with a walk through Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, a spectacular giant carved by glacial rivers over centuries. Stroll along boardwalks perched above the winding gorge, taking in breathtaking views of its sheer emerald walls and twisting waterways below—nature’s artistry at its grandest.
Next, we travel to the Dyrhólaey Nature Reserve, a volcanic island shaped by millennia of erosion. This dramatic promontory offers sweeping views of Iceland’s iconic black beaches, where pounding waves crash against the shore. Dyrhólaey is also home to colonies of puffins, perched on rugged cliffs—a magical sight for bird lovers and photographers alike.
From there, we’ll gear up for a once-in-a-lifetime glacier walk on Sólheimajökull. With crampons strapped on and ice axes in hand, a specialist guide will lead us onto the ancient ice. Witness firsthand the immense scale and beauty of this endangered environment, shaped by time but rapidly shrinking due to climate change. It’s a humbling experience that brings the fragility of our planet into sharp focus.
We’ll end the day with a visit to Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most majestic waterfalls. Stand before its thundering cascade and feel the mist as it rises from the base.
Our evening concludes with a cozy stay at Hótel Kvika, where you can reflect on a day spent walking among giants while soaking in a relaxing hot tub.

Today is a perfect blend of nature, culture, and relaxation. We begin our journey in the quaint village of Stokkseyri, where we’ll take to the water in sea kayaks. Paddle through tranquil canals, down meandering rivers, and out to the open sea, surrounded by the rhythm of the waves. As we glide along the rocks and floating kelp, keep an eye out for shy seals basking in the sun and elegant whooper swans gliding by. It’s a peaceful way to connect with the sea and nature.
After the kayaking adventure, we'll head to a charming seafood restaurant renowned for its langoustine soup. Savor this Icelandic delicacy as we take a well-deserved break.
Then, we’ll have time to shop for beautiful, locally-made Icelandic wool products. Browse through cozy hand-knitted sweaters, scarves, mittens, and other handcrafted treasures at a local store—perfect souvenirs or gifts to remember this special trip.
The final adventure of the day takes us on a 5-mile hike to a stunning geothermal valley. The two-mile trek takes us through a landscape of colorful mountains, grazing sheep, and bubbling geothermal vents. Upon reaching the valley, soak in the natural hot spring, surrounded by the steam and tranquility of this volcanic wonderland.
Those who do not want to hike can swim in the local pool or enjoy an easy walking tour of the nearby town known for its flower greenhouses.
In the early evening, we’ll return to Reykjavik for our final night where you can reflect on the peaceful adventures of the day.

On the way to Keflavik Airport, we’ll stop at this serene spa for a 2-hour soak in the infinity pool, where the stunning views of the North Atlantic and the surrounding landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for reflection.
During your time at the lagoon, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the rejuvenating Seven Steps Ritual, a unique Icelandic spa experience designed to cleanse and refresh your body and mind. With high-quality soaps, lotions, and hairdryers available, it’s the perfect way to prepare for your flight home, feeling relaxed and renewed.
Afterward, we’ll transfer to Keflavik Airport together, with an anticipated drop-off time of 1:45 PM. Please schedule your flight to depart after 4:45 PM to allow ample time for the transfer and airport check-in. Included Meals: Breakfast
Your expert in Iceland is Ingibjörg Guðrún Guðjónsdóttir, but you can call her Inga. Inga is from the West Fjords in Iceland and has over 35 years of experience as a hiking and skiing guide in Iceland & Greenland. She is a gifted storyteller in three languages, fantastic cook, and overall renaissance woman who can do just about anything or will find the solution to get any job done. Along the way, she will help you fall in love with Iceland through stories and natural history.
In addition to guiding, Inga has an education in ethnology and tourism, a Master’s Degree in project management, and is a published author, and a costume designer. She stays busy throughout the year on various projects and is currently renovating a farmhouse in northwest Iceland. She and her husband Einar have a son and daughter, and a sheep dog. Their family enjoys sharing outdoor adventures together in Iceland and worldwide.
